Tuesday, Jan. 27th - Columbus Blue Jackets
Four words to describe this game - All you can eat! My colleague (Dr. Chad Seifried) and I got tickets from one of students working for the team. A recent trend in sports is to have all you can eat sections. This was my 1st time having a ticket in one of these sections and I really enjoyed it. Everyone in the section could eat all the hot dogs, brats, tenders, popcorn, and peanuts that wanted (along with free soft drinks). It was the best hockey game I had ever attended; the Blue Jackets beat the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings in overtime. I also got to sport my new personalized "Turner #99" jersey (compliments of Cari and Ricky).
Wednesday, Jan. 28th - Ohio State Men's Basketball
Chad's college coach at Penn State is now an assistant with the "M" team, so we had incredible seats right behind the bench (2nd row). School was canceled that day because of snow, so I was surprised to see such a great crowd. The Buckeyes won, beating M for the 9th time in 10 games.
Sunday, Feb. 1st - Ohio State Women's Basketball
After a few days off from games, Briana and I attended the game with Chad (one of his high school teammates is an assistant coach with Indiana). Our seats were even better than the M game (1st row!). I taped the game and you could see me and Briana throughout. The Buckeyes won and Briana got to meet her favorite player on the men's team - Evan Turner (also pictured above from the M game).
Tuesday, Feb. 3rd - Cleveland Cavaliers
Chad and I took several Sport Management students to see the Cavs play. We got a tour of the arena from one of our graduates, then saw the team win their 23 straight home game this season. We also got to see Lebron James score his 12,000th NBA point.
Thursday, Feb. 5th - Ohio State Women's Basketball
This was the annual Daddy/Daughter game. The Buckeyes defeated Purdue and we had a great time. Briana caught a t-shirt from the cheerleaders (a little big right now) and got to go out on the court after the game. She also met one of the players (Maria Moeller).
