Thank you God for Grandma & Grandpa

Briana with Annie & Newt-the granddogs

As many of you know, Brian went to Texas a few weeks ago for five days. He had a conference that was conveniently located in Fort Worth, so he took the opportunity to spend a few days with his family in Waco. In the meantime, I was going to be left alone with two kids while working full time. I know, a lot of people do it...just not me. Luckily, God invented Grandparents. My parents came down from Wisconsin and got to spend the whole week taking care of me-oops, I mean the grandkids. It was wonderful coming home to a clean house, happy kids, and a hot meal. Briana and Alex really loved the time with their grandma and grandpa. It was great to have them here. Brian goes to Canada in a few weeks and lucky for me, grandma and grandpa are coming back! Hooray and Thank you!!! The kids can't wait.

Happy Half-Birthday to...

Alex turned 6 months about 10 days ago and we had his check-up yesterday. If you remember from our post in January, Alex was well above the average height for someone his age. He has grown at an even faster pace the last 2 months; he is now at the 85th percentile for height (27.5 inches). The doctor predicted he would probably be around 6'2". Gretchen will tell you that I had the biggest smile on my face when we heard this. Alex is also starting to catch up on weight, increasing to 15 lbs., 9 oz. Because he is growing so fast, we had to go buy a new car seat. The doctor said we could start feeding him some "regular" foods (mashed potatoes, yogurt, apple sauce, ice cream, etc.) and finger foods (such as Cheerios). It is amazing how quickly our little man is growing!
